The crown of Miss Minnesota 2017 went to Brianna Drevlow. Drevlow recently finished her first year of graduate studies, pursuing a Masters in Music Composition from Bowling Green State University as a teaching assistant. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Concordia College and is a freelance composer and private music instructor. Brianna has studied the piano since the age of four and has performed at the Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City, is a featured artist on Minnesota Public Radio, and has performed on tour in Italy and France. Her recent musical accomplishments include prestigious study at the ASCAP Film Scoring Seminar at New York University as a fully funded research scholar, collaboration with the Jerome Foundation and international festival performances in both Canada and the United Kingdom. In addition, Brianna has been featured in academic publications and conferences for her research in compositional pedagogy.
Brianna’s personal platform, “Brenna’s Brigade: Juvenile Arthritis Awareness,” is inspired by her eight year old sister, Brenna, who struggles with arthritis. As a goodwill ambassador for the Children’s Miracle Network and the Arthritis Foundation, Brianna advocates for the awareness of pediatric auto-immune diseases and provides a network of support for children and families who battle JA during her reign as Miss North Star 2017.
Brianna is that she is the oldest of eleven children, is a National Forensics League Academic All-American, has taken private pilot lessons, visited over 250 National Parks in 48 states, and loves swing dancing.
Brianna will compete for the national title in September against with 51 other contestants.
